Wimpy Kid Wednesdays: Dog Days

by Jeff Kinney / October 13, 2009

Plot summary: Greg Heffley's hoping for a summer full of Twisted Wizard in the dark, and lots of video games for his birthday. What he got was a dog, books and clothes for his birthday and a goldfish. Not only that, he must attempt to impress Heather Hills, now his crush, older sister of his crush in the last book.

Now, summer is my favourite season. And while it may or not have something to do with the fact that this was the first WK book I physically owned for months so I had to keep on re-reading it, I don't really enjoy it all that much.

The plot with the Lil Cutie part was unneeded and I think the book would be fine with it. It kinda made it less enjoyable. What also made it less enjoyable was how Greg was acting like Heather's bodyguard, it kinda degraded the funny relatable character we all know and like. It was kinda boring. The movie was better. But oh well.
